IOT PRODUCT SECURITY IN PANASONIC

Cybersecurity issues have affected computers, smartphones and now IoT devices. Not surprising is that traditional hardware manufacturers who simply made products "smart" by adding networking functions into products without security considerations, are now facing a tough time handling IoT security issues. This presentation will introduce how Panasonic ensures the security of its IoT devices as an electronics corporation.
ABOUT OSAWA YUKI
The leader of Panasonic product security activities in APAC region. He started his career as a software engineer for telecom network at NTT Comware Corporation. He worked for Hyogo prefectural government during 2005 to 2017 as an administrator of information systems. He was a member of CSIRT in Hyogo government. He has received a master's degree in Information Technology - Information Security from Carnegie Mellon CyLab Japan in 2009. After joined Panasonic since 2017, he has focused on improving security for IoT, including Product security training for developers, Threat intelligence of IoT and CTFs.
ABOUT CHEN PO-YAO (SEAN)
PANASONIC CYBER SECURITY LAB Staff Engineer. Graduated from National Defense University Computer Science department. He worked for National Center for Cyber Security Technology during 2014 to 2018. He used to responsible for security auditing for government, cyber security diagnostic and government configuration baseline draw up. From 2018 to present, he works for PANASONIC. He is the trainer of IoT product security training in Panasonic product development group and IoT product penetration tester. And also, he used to be the speaker of 2018 HTCON pacific (Hack in Taiwan Conference)
